A lovely glossy English India black Parker 51 set in very good condition. Both pen and pencil are in excellent condition with no damage at all noted to either piece. The all-gold-filled caps are decorated with the "converging line" pattern - they have no brassing or noticeable scratches. The barrels are scratchless and very glossy. Both caps have a clear grey top jewel with a gold filled Parker arrow pocket clip. The barrel unscrews to reveal the Aerometric filler which is in excellent undamaged and shiny condition.

The original pliglass ink sac is still installed and has just the usual internal ink staining. The barrel has a shallow but complete imprint at the forward end. This is an English-made set and the date for is still clear. The gold hooded nib is in a broad point and made from 14 carat gold. This is a repeater pencil. I have installed a fresh 0. This Parker 51 fountain pen is in the very attractive burgundy with a short clip Lustraloy cap and dates from sometime around when the polished stainless steel Aerometric filler sleeve and halo Parker trade mark was introduced. The Parker 51 was first introduced in as a resilient, stylish and dependable pen. The first examples were fitted with the Vacumatic filling system, but this was upgraded in the early s to the much more sturdy plastic Pli-glass Aerometric filling system. The pen is mm long. The barrel, shell and cap are all in a very good vintage condition although there is the surface wear one would expect from a well looked after 60 year old pen.
